It all started with a singular dream formed in the year 2000. Courtney Wisely knew that she wanted to start a community theatre one day. 22 years later, in the town of Festus, MO, she finally did. Spotlight Community Theatre was formed in March of 2022 and took off like a rocket ship! She never knew how many people in Jefferson County would want to participate and was thrilled when it surpassed 100 members in the first year.
The first year produced five one-act plays, a full-length radio play, and a full-length musical.
These productions were the work of thousands of hours from the Spotlight family throughout the year and something that each person can be proud of. The Spotlight volunteers and actors became a family and collaborated under one unified mission. Each person brought something unique and needed to the crew! Aside from productions, we participated in multiple town events such as Twin City Days, Spooktacular, and the Christmas Parade.
Courtney and the Spotlight family are excited to see what the future holds and continue inspiring and entertaining the residents of Jefferson County through performance arts and arts education for years to come!
